The Taproots managed to cling onto their lead in the tense final moments of a high-scoring game tonight. Minutemen veteran Nick Nwabudike (Elephant, C) was noticeably struggling tonight, forcing the Williamsburg team to play largely from the woods and without the help of their largest player. Ivory's troubles also left Rookie of the Year contender Raoul Kidane (Ethiopian Wolf, C) to run rampant, letting the wolf easily claim Player of the Game honours. Today's game puts Plymouth at 3-1 in the series.
Meanwhile, there was a blowout in the Western Conference as the Spectrums pulled out a 31-point win over the Rapids. The Spectrums took control of the game from the very beginning, and never gave it up. Spectrums rookie Zack Plushpaw (Pine Marten, G) was in fine form tonight, helping to anchor the team. This places the Rapids on the wrong end of a 3-1 series. Of course, the Rapids managed to dig their way out of this position last round against the Winnipeg Voyageurs, so the odds might not be insurmountable. That said, with the number of heavily one-sided wins that Santa Ana has pulled off this series, it remains to be seen if Spokane can pull it off again.
