Arena: Crawdad Stadium - Biloxi, MS

Player of the Game: Clifford Carlin (Mutt, G) - 20 pts, 6 reb, 14 ast

 Clifford Carlin
The Tides certainly rushed into Biloxi this evening, with three players scoring in the twenties and obtaining four double doubles they paraded out of Crawdad Stadium boasting an eighteen point victory and an absolutely stellar performances by Monty Silverthorn (Pine Marten, G), Blanc Mange (White Wolf, F), Constantine Jones (Raven, C), and Hal Dufrain (American Alligator, F/C), with Bangor rookie, Clifford Carlin (Dog, G)’s A-Game of twenty points, fourteen assists and eight field goals earning him Player of the Game.

The Biloxi team fought their best, but only sophomore Rosalie Smoot (American Bison, F/C) managed to obtain a double double and despite a concerted effort by the players, they trailed behind the entire game. Perhaps it was the loss on their home turf or yet another disappointing defeat, but what was once a rumor is now open conversation, as Voodoo fans continue talking about a “curse” set upon their team. Considering their scant luck this season, plagued by managerial mismanagement, struggling players and still haunted by the loss of Barton Rouge (Red Fox, G). The Biloxi Voodoo’s could very well use some help “from the other side”.

 Hiroyuki Matsuura
The Howlers were back on their steady winning ways as they faced tough competition in the Plains division leading Dakota Bikers in Montana.

In a highly contested affair, the Howlers were able to edge out the Bikers in most of the quarters, while Montana seemed to regain their offensive touch after a tough 3 game losing streak. For the Bikers, Dylan Redfield (Red Deer, F) was the one leading the way with 19 points, 6 rebounds, and 6 assists. But with the Howlers, 2 players definitely stepped it up during this game. Lemond Conkale (Florida Panther, F/G), continued to perform really well after a slow season start, scoring 20 points with 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Hiroyuki Matsuura (Shrike, C/F), the player of the game, is really starting to shine as the starting center for the Howlers as he earned another Double-Double with 17 points, 11 Rebounds, 3 assists, and 3 blocks.

 D’Angelo MacQuilkin
If fans seem to be getting bored of the Mayors' many victories this season, they’d best get ready for more. The Rocket City team blasted off early this season with an enviable winning streak and while they’ve met defeat more than once since, this time wasn’t one of them.

Baltimore’s spirits soared during the first and second quarters of the game as Samantha Anderson (Bunny, G) and Silvia Windcreek (Silver Hare, G)’s excellent scoring put them in the lead. The rest of their team kept up their offensive and blocked any attempt the Mayors made at the hoop.

However, towards the end of the third quarter, a last minute field goal from Huntsville rookie, Josh Green (Squirrel, F/G), gave them a two point advantage, making the arena burst in a flurry of orange flags as the Spirits fans held their breath.

By the end of the fourth quarter the advantage had increased to nine points thanks to a new strategy employed between heavily aggressive player Wendy Brown (Saber-toothed Tiger, G) and assist heavy D’Angelo MacQuilkin (Lion, G), the British born lion once again earning Player of the Game. Huntsville fans have begun calling this new strategy the “Steak and Shake”.

Boxscore

Officials: Dimitra Kyriakov #34, Wesley Wasilowsky #41, Sal Muller #4
Arena: Newark Stadium - Newark, NJ

Player of the Game: Lance Freewell (Clouded Leopard, C) - 21 pts, 12 reb, 4 ast, 1 blk

 Lance Freewell
In his first game back in Newark Stadium since he was traded away from the Pride in the offseason, Lance Freewell (Clouded Leopard, C) showed exactly what his former team missed out on by trading him as the Keystones beat the Pride by double digits. A glaring problem for the New Jersey based team all season long has been their bigfurs performing below par, and one might wonder if the result of the game would have been any different had the Pride gotten a suitable replacement for Freewell. With 21 points, 12 rebounds, 4 assists and a block, he scored the most points and grabbed the most boards out of all the players in the game, becoming Player of the Game and getting a double-double as well. Despite rookie forward Adam Tevela (Linsang, F) pulling off a double-double of his own with 20 points, 10 rebounds, 6 assists, 2 steals and a block, the Pride were simply unable to hold back the Keystones offensively, especially in the later stages of the game. An injury to Keystones star second-year guard Terrence Tolliver (Pronghorn, G), however, meant that the Pittsburgh team were forced to leave the Asphalt Savannah with mixed emotions.
