Andrew West was ranked #21 in the 2013 Draft Candidate Combine.
Andrew West, originally from Broken Hill, Australia, saw his high school days filled with nothing but tests/assignments - and when he wasn't scrawling with a pen, he was on the court practicing, drilling, and honing his technique. He found basketball from an early age and stuck with it through his educational career, using it as both his excuse to avoid school and family alike. Every day for him was a day to get better at driving into the open and making his shot as smooth as possible.
His natural height brought him perfectly into the field of basketball and became his obsession since picking it up as a child. He took no greater satisfaction than breaking away, finding his shot, and lighting up the boards like no one else could in his high-school days - and he continued bringing the same determination with him unto his first years of college in Australia.
But Andrew wasn't satisfied with the competition he faced on the eastern courts, and his family could see that he was finding it a struggle to find the drive for the sport he loved when many others preferred European football and thus his talents he'd honed to this point would be squandered. Rather than let him continue, they brought him state-side and enrolled him into one of the more routinely farmed schools for the Western Leagues, Pack Territory University.
From then on, Andrew's name became everything PTU would be buzzing about. Not only finding it easy to pull away from players that troubled average shooting guards and smoothly snapping twine, but also making use of his height in a post-up advantage on smaller players, making him a perfect highlight to the team's aggressive play style.
With all that, the fact that the quoll's ball-handling is refined beyond an average player, the fact that he's a lefty crossed up quite a number of players during his college career. All this would make Andrew be the swingfur PTU needed to continue having their name stand out on FBA draft lists.
