Beau Dapremont is an American professional basketball player for the Edmonton Totems of the Furry Basketball Association (FBA).

Biography

Beau grew up in the bayou near Breaux Bridge, LA, as the "surprise" last child to older parents who didn't think they could "produce" anymore. Though wishing he didn't fit the Cajun stereotype, his family did get by on food from the waters near his home and food-stamps, with plenty of derelict vehicles to play around in. When he was old enough to figure out what tools were he would go into the yard and take apart whatever he could, leading his love for all things engineering and automotive.

School was not the best for Beau, while his income and lifestyle of his family were never brought to the forefront, his tall height (well above average when he entered kindergarten,) and nearly incomprehensible speaking patterns made him targets for ridicule from his fellow classmates. He did excel in subjects like math and science, but things like grammar and history bored him.

Still from an early age he was groomed to play basketball, finding it entertaining (nobody knew he had very keen spacial awareness.) Plus when he was on the court there was less ridicule than he received in the classroom.

As he got older things got much better once he hit high school. He still had to deal with "boring" classes, but his GPA went up as he was able to take liked subjects like auto shop, physics, and geometry. Being on the basketball team also helped his status in the school and he felt more confident even with his unique way of talking.

When it came time for looking for colleges, he did have the attention of some recruiters, but the school he chose to go to was Pensacola Preditorial and Mechanical; not only for its basketball team but also its excellent engineering school.

He did get some fun-joshing from the likes of upperclassmen Tanya Feckle, but he took that as just team-hazing more than anything, staying friends with Tanya, Hal Dufrain and Hank Sawyer, the "Pensacola Three," up until their graduation from PPM.

Now he wishes to continue what he considers his "social good luck charm" of being a basketball player for the FBA.
