It's hard for a dragon from a wealthy family to make real friends as a kid. And it's even harder when his parents are so INVOLVED with every aspect of his life. And harder still when he happens to be colored a bright, candy shade of pink. Brian is no stranger to mockery.
For as long as Brian "Sweetie" Montgomery can remember, his doting and independently wealthy family have been participants in every tiny aspect of his life, from making sure his school always hired "approved" teachers to appointing chaperones and bodyguards to follow him constantly.
When Brian hit his growth spurt and sprouted to the astonishing height of 7'2", it was decided that the family should invest in a basketball career for him (as well as having him study law at Harvaardwak). Whatever natural inclinations Brian might have had for the sport were eclipsed by his parents' desire that he become the greatest basketball player in the world. To that end, they hired personal trainers, nutritionists, tutors, and supplementation in the aim of sculpting him into the perfect center. Bedecked in team colors, they attended every game and practice, shouting from the sidelines, "You can do it, Sweetie! We love you, Sweetie!"
Much to his chagrin, this nickname was picked up by his teammates, who lost little love for the blushing pink dragon whose over-doting parents bought his way onto the team. Though he hates the nickname with every fiber of his being, everyone he knows just calls him "Sweetie" now, usually in mocking tones.
Sweetie now yearns to escape from the shadows of his hoverparents and earn recognition and achievement on his own, independent from them; however, he's not so interested in being independent from money, and still makes sure he pays for the best trainers and equipment to keep himself in prime shape. He has an unfortunate sneering demeanor toward those who cannot afford the finer things in life, and is not above attempting to buy his way out of (and sometimes into) trouble when he thinks it necessary.
