Buckhalter Andrew "Buck" Hopper is a male rabbit guard currently playing for the Texas Lone Stars. He is a former League MVP from 2009 and was Finals MVP when he led the Stanislaus Thrust to their only title in 2011.

Biography

Buck was chosen in the first round, fourth overall of the 2004 FBA Draft behind Xavier Knutten of the Huntsville Mayors, Wally Wald of the Plymouth Taproots, and John Stoat of the Spokane Rapids. Known for simply outstanding ballhandling skills and incredible speed. His crossover is one of the fastest and deadliest in the game. Uses a rapid zig-zag style to drive to the paint, prefers to finish with a dunk over the layup. Exceptional jumping ability, can dunk from a stand-still under the basket despite his height. In recent years has gained excellent shooting ability, now able to hit the long ball and midrange jumpers with the accuracy of the best shooters in the FBA. Also exceptionally strong for his size and species, giving him moderate ability from the post-up position. One of the brightest stars in the FBA.

2009-2010 Season

On December 23, 2009, Buck Hopper was handed a 5-game suspension and a $50,000 fine for his involvement in destroying a room in a 5-star hotel during a private party celebrating the recent loss of the Hunstville Mayors, breaking a 13-game winning streak against divisional rival Tallahassee Typhoons. The same fine and suspension had originally been handed to Taproots point guard Cheeto Wolfote (Wolfote, G) who was also present at the party, but was later rescinded when investigators cleared him of involvement. The FBA added an additional 3 games to the suspension when it came out that Hopper had intentionally misled investigators and did not confess until after his game against the Mounties.

Later, the FBA Players' Association and lawyers representing Hopper appealed against the given suspension. The FBA responded by reducing the suspension to 4 games.

On January 14, 2010, during an away match against the Montana Howlers Hopper took to the court against Julio Onca (Black Panther, F/C), for the first time since Slasher's brutal clawing of B-Hop in the 2007 Playoffs. The game was not without controversy. After getting a thunderous dunk on Onca in the third quarter, the crowd booed the rabbit, and he responded by lifting his jersey to show off the scars on his torso. Hopper was later fined $15,000 by the league.

2013-2014 Season

Hopper was traded on March 12, 2014, to the Texas Lone Stars along with $4 million in cap space for Kinny DeMarcus (Hairy Bush Viper, G), Les Moore (Rabbit, G), and a draft pick.

Relationship with Valencia Zeraus

Hopper has a well publicized romantic relationship with Valencia Zeraus of the Newark Pride. The two reportedly started dating after a Thrust at Pride game where Stanislaus won and Hopper threw a party at a local dance club, inviting both teams. Hopper hit on Zeraus, who punched him in the face, giving him a black eye. Later that evening, a dance competition was announced, and Zeraus won the contest after convincing Hopper to join her on the dance floor.

The two have been dating ever since.
