Chester O’Shaughnessy (born July 9th, 1992), also known as Shaggy O'Shaughnessy, is an Irish wolfhound professional basketball for the Rocky Mountain Royals of the Furry Basketball Association Developement League.

Chester "Shaggy" O’Shaughnessy is the only son of Sheamus and Chloe O’Shaughnessy. Being the son of business moguls, Chester felt he was always without family. Living in a mansion being pampered 24 hours every day was bored of his life until he was introduced to basketball by a friend in the 1st Class of elementary when he was eight years old and loved the sport and practiced every day in his family's home gymnasium. Chester was given the nickname "Shaggy" because of his crimped, curly fur by his girlfriend Sarah Cleary. At the age of 18, when his schooling in Dublin was finished, his father and mother took vacation leave from work and helped train for his big chance in the FBA.

In February 2012, Chester's father had contracted stage-4 lung cancer and Chester felt distraught and broken by the event and vowed to stay by his father's side. However, his father said no and asked him to grab attire in his father's closet when he got home. There was a suit bag and in it was basketball gear from his father's tenure in the IFBA (Irish Furry Basketball Association) for B.C. Limerick.

On New Year's Eve 2012, Sheamus O’Shaughnessy passed away four minutes before the New Year at age 59. Chester was heartbroken, but held on to his emotions and even his father's jersey. From that day, he would wear his father's late uniform number: 16.

In his early basketball career, O’Shaughnessy has had success in his guarding game as the 5-spot and his scoring in the Power Forward position. He averaged 19.4 points, 2.9 assists, 4.6 blocks and 7.2 rebounds per game with the Shamrocks of the Canine University of the Republic of Ireland (Madraí Ollscoil Phoblacht na hÉireann). He had his team make into the playoffs, but fell to elimination in his Freshman year. However, in his junior year, O’Shaughnessy and the Shamrocks made it the finals and came out the victor and his play led him to become the MVP of the finals against the University of Dublin Shillelaghs; 99-87. Off the court, O’Shaughnessy is an outgoing, down-to-Earth young dog with a calm, sing-song Irish accent that melted the hearts of young girls whenever they stumbled into him in public. He says that he brings out the "other side" of him out on the basketball court by resighting old Irish folklore and stories of tragedy and success (which was also done by his father) before every game entrancing him into a state teammates claimed to be "eerie".
