Cho Song-Hwa is a male Chinese fu dog center currently playing for the Newark Pride.

While Cho's parents are Chinese nationals, it is surmised that the two were captured or defected years prior to his birth. The couple were a valuable find for the small dictatorship. Not only was Cho's father a wrestling legend, but the "Dear Leader" could now boast the loyalty of one of the China's most venerated mythical beasts. Most fu dogs cling to the nomadic lifestyle of their northern Chinese ancestors. They remain among the rarest species on the planet.

Cho lived a very sheltered life until late adolescence. He and his mother were routinely displayed in national celebrations and parades. When his father defected during the Olympics, he was separated from his mother and became a ward of the state. He has neither seen or heard from her since.

The boy's extraordinary height and strength were not lost on government officials. Placed in the state's "elite" institution for gifted youths, Cho endured a rigorous training regimen designed to develop his natural gifts as a basketball prodigy. Several years of intense conditioning sculpted the tow-headed pup into a towering force of nature.

Years of developed crafted Cho into a finely tuned piece of state propaganda. Indeed, officials were chomping at the bit to deploy their fu dog for the glory of the People's Republic. Cho and an interpreter were shipped to America after a brief stint in the Asian league.

Unfortunately, due to the secretive nature of the regime, these games are all that scouts have at their disposal.

Career Start

After declaring for the 2013 FBA Draft, Song-Hwa went unpicked and entered the D-League. He was then signed mid-season in December 2013 by the Edmonton Totems.
