Margaret "Brickhouse" Walters is a guard who last played for the Winnepeg Voyaguers.

Born in Manhattan in New York, young Margaret learned very quickly that she had to assert herself if she wanted to survive in her tough neighborhood. While she was a good student in classes, Margaret felt more at home in the streets where she developed a never-say-die roughhouse attitude with her group of friends.

The popular thing to do, of course, was to take in an participate in the pick-up basketball games at Rucker Park. Once Walters had polished her skills with the rock, she muscled through and got her shot to show what she could do.

And Walters showed them. Her hard-nosed drives and willingness to play as rough as possible earned her respect and eyes of future coaches. Margaret's street style became so popular that she was identified by onlookers that blared "Brick House" by the Commodores on boom boxes when she was ballin'. The reason: she was built like a brick house beauty and also played like she was a brick house. The hyena carried that swagger all through high school and college, determined to keep proving herself. Walters wasn't afraid to take a foul or give and it showed. Walters' greatest talent was her drives to the hoop and innate passing ability.

She became so skilled at St. John's Unifursity that the Albany Alphas traded up slightly to pick her fourth in the 2006 Draft.

Combining with Carl Esteban and Lenny Hicks, Walters gave the Alphas a tough-playing starting front for several seasons. During the 2011-12 season, Walters was traded to the Des Moines Blanks for Jeff Pellham. After the Blanks moved to Edmonton, Walters was traded to the Pittsburgh Keystones. Moved to the Whips for the stretch run, Walters assisted Santa Fe's playoff drive to the second round. After the season, the hyena signed a three-year, $10 million deal with the Williamsburg Minutemen. In the 2014 off-season, she was dealt to the San Jose Thrust for a future draft pick.

Relationship with Shane Rufus

Before Walters was drafted, many compared her hard-nosed, physical playing style to that of FBA star Shane Rufus. In her first meeting against the red wolf, she dramatically used a trick play to draw Fang under the hoop, then took a weak side pass charging at the rim to collide with the veteran. After getting the bucket and one, she licked Shane's nose.

Shortly afterwards, the two began an intense and physical relationship. Separated by being in opposite conferences, they rarely met, but teammates said when they did, they spent entire nights alone together. The relationship ended suddenly after a couple years. While both sides have been silent about the reasons, a handful of people know that Margaret caught Shane in bed with another women during a time she had been expecting Shane to ask to marry her. The heart-breaking discovery convinced Margaret to end the relationship immediately.

2014 Thrust

After Shane Rufus announced his retirement during the 2014 FBA off-season, the San Jose Thrust traded for Walters, publicly stating they wanted her for her comparable playing style to Shane. A month later, Rufus changed his mind and signed a one year contract with the Thrust, putting the two former lovers on the same roster for the first time in their careers.
