René Lacoste was ranked #17 in the 2013 Draft Candidate Combine.

Raised in a poor family with eight younger siblings, René found himself with few options after high school. With college ruled out, he joined the Army and did two tours overseas. There he proved himself on the field to be a capable squad leader, but was became known for refusing orders that he believed would endanger his squad. After losing two squad members in a botched operation, his stubbornness turned to outright insubordination. Though he'd played basketball in high school, he dramatically developed his skills while on tour, and eventually led his team to a bronze medal in the Military World Games. However, his repeated refusal to obey orders he disagreed with led to an honorable discharge--most said it would have been dishonorable were he not so respected for his athletic performance.

Since his returning home, he has focused intensely on basketball--as in his squad, known for disregarding instructions when he thinks they might compromise his team. He also became known for a vicious streak, seeking aggressive reprisal against any opposing player who harms or threatens one of his teammates.
