Biography

Wesley has the unfortunate fate of being part of a family that moved constantly. His father was always on the go and moving wherever his job was taking him and taking his family along. The Lachs family moved across the province throughout Wesley's childhood, ending up as far as Prince Rupert and Abbotsford, and eventually settling in Prince George, where his dad finally managed to have a job where he can be with his family at night.

The constant moving around made Wesley struggle to find solid footing in schools and trying to find friends. He learned not to get too emotionally attached to his newly made friends in one school, since he always seemed to leave after one to two years at a particular school. He learned to cope with it by still playing basketball with his friends and on the school team, as short-lived as it was sometimes. Wesley became attached to basketball, as it helped him cope with homesickness to other places and it always gave him the chance to settle in another town, due to his skill set and size, playing street and organized leagues throughout BC.

As he settled into Prince George for middle school, Wesley came across new friends, including fellow draftee Ahti Nereus. The two became the greatest of friends during their time in late middle school, playing together every time they could, even though it was mostly outside and on the street. But their happy times were cut short, as Wesley had to move once again, and the two didn't see each other again, until they applied at Heritage River, and were accepted into their respective fields of study.

Their great friendship revitalized once more, as they entered into Heritage River's basketball program and met again at the very first practice. The two fish began working together and improving each other, on and off the court, and it didn't take long for them to be named starters in their Freshman season. As Wesley and Ahti continued to improve on each other's games, the two fish led the Nuggets to the national championships two years in a row, winning the CFIS title in their sophomore year.

Being a very social and outspoken guy, Wesley is determined to help his friend Ahti get out of his shyness. He likes to joke around and just be amongst other furs whenever he can. His extroverted personality is welcome, although he can get too far with his behaviour sometimes, but he learns to adjust to his teammates' and friends' limits quickly.

Skills

Being a big and tall fish, Wesley likes to shoot and dunk. He has a very offensive playing style, driving towards the bucket, even if there is a bear in between. But thanks to coaching, he learned to pass more and play smart defense to balance out his offense. Unfortunately, he isn't the fastest, as athletic as he is inside the arc. He struggles with three-point attempts and is known to get into foul trouble. Despite that, he is a great force on offense, and is known to deliver crucial points when needed.
